Anne Collins Weight Loss Program Review Basics:

Overview

The Anne Collins Weight Loss Program is a membership site which gives you access to a catalogue of weight loss information along with 9 different diets that you can follow.

The site is well laid out, although with the information split into different sections then you have to do a lot of clicking around to get the information you need, if all the main information was in one guide that would help you to get through it all a lot easier.

You’ll find information on common dieting problems, common health issues and what dietary changes the author recommends along with which of the 9 diets she recommends to best help combat those conditions, you also get information on exercise, nutrition and eating out.

There is a lot of good information in the site, and things are covered in a brief way so it doesn’t go too indepth but doesn’t skip over things either.

First off you need to work out how many calories a day you need, which you are told how to do and then given an online calculator to work it out for you, then you deduct calories off that to give you the figure you are aiming for each day.

Then you need to pick your diet, there are 9 in total and although they are all subtly different then they mostly revolve around a central theme which is that you are given some rules to follow, then a set of meal plans to follow which add up to a low amount of calories, you can then top up the calories to the amount you need using approved snacks inbetween the meals.

Each is slightly different though, some are geared towards people who have little time to cook, there are two vegetarian ones in there, a low GI one and a low carb one, then there is one which has a 14 day diet but then also advises you on how to eat healthily permanently once the 14 day portion finishes.

You get given lists of foods you can substitute in if you don’t like some things on the meal plans, often you also get additional recipes to add in and even lists of recipes to create your own meal plans. Sometimes you get shopping lists for the meal plans that have been provided as well, allowing you to stock up for the week ahead without having to work out exactly what you need.

There is one diet which is very low in calories, 1000 per day and you are not allowed to top it up (plus you are told to exercise for 30 – 45 minutes per day which is not advisable for most people on such a low calorie intake), but apart from that one then you are given free reign to use the meal plans which usually add up to 1100 calories per day and then you top that up to what you need.

Some more advice about how many calories per day to need would have been nice. You are told that a deficit of 3500 calories means you should lose one pound of fat, but then you are left to work out how much to reduce your daily intake by yourself. We are just afraid that lots of people will take the 1100 calorie meal plans and not add anything onto them, making these very low calorie diets which will push your body quickly into a starvation response where your metabolism slows down to combat a food shortage.

We’d advise you only reduce your calories per day by around 500 to stop this happening. Each diet lasts for around 14 to 28 days, so if you eat normally for a few days after the diet finishes before you start another cycle then you can raise your body’s Leptin levels so it doesn’t think it is starving.

However any information that we may think is missing is more than made up for by the forum and personal support. We sent in a test question directly to the author who actively encourages you to contact her for support and motivation, within less than two hours we had an email back from Anne asking us for height, weight and activity amounts so she could better help us out.

We replied and just hours later we had a detailed answer back, not just a few words but a detailed answer for us on the best diet plan to follow and how many calories we should reduce our daily amount by – incredible customer service considering the program is so cheap!

We also asked Anne about the starvation response and she assured us that as long as you don’t stick to a diet of 1000 calories or below for too long (the diet at that calorie level in the membership site clearly tells you not to stick to it for more than the 14 days) then that should not be a problem and at our recommended intake of 1400 calories there was nothing to worry about.

But for under $20 for a year then it is a bargain, it gives good advice on nutrition and exercise and the meals often look delicious, as long as people act sensibly and only reduce their daily calories by say 500 and make sure they snack on the approved foods to bring their daily intake up to the required level then this could be a great weight loss program.

Anne Collins Weight Loss Program Review – The Good & The Bad:

Pros

  • You get access to the forum for support and advice
  • It is the cheapest diet site we have reviewed
  • Excellent customer service
  • You get lots of healthy and tasty recipes and snack ideas and it teaches you in 2 of the diets how to eat healthily long term as well

Cons

  • Doesn’t give enough detail on how many calories a day you should reduce your intake by (but the support makes up for that)
  • Too much choice which could be confusing
  • Fast food options are given for almost every diet which almost seems to condone eating it, a warning is given about having too much but for one of the diets then every lunch has a fast food option if you want it…

User Comments

Anne told me when I first joined that if I stuck with it I could be 100 pounds lighter in one year. I never believed it would happen… but it did and now I have lost 20 more to boot!

I have personally lost weight on the program, and as a doctor, I have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone who wants to improve their weight and health.

I have lost 60 pounds of body fat in the last 7 months and am still working on the last 25 pounds. I have made incredibly wonderful friends on the forum.

*Most people will never even finish reading the product let alone take any action on it! So the results above are far from typical.

Customer Support

It is not often we give 5 stars for anything, but this site has a forum so your questions can be answered by other users 24/7 as well as get new recipes and tips and tricks from people who have already been through the course.

Plus Anne really does encourage you to email her for support and motivation and she responds quickly and with detailed answers, this is some of the best customer service we have ever seen. You also get a phone number at the bottom of the site too so we can’t fault the customer support.

Anne Collins Weight Loss Program Review Overall:

Overall this is incredible value for money, it is the cheapest weight loss program we have reviewed yet provides a number of different diet plans for you to choose from and gives the best customer service we have ever seen.

The diets are well thought out and give lots of room for you to customise them so you are eating meals you like. They are easy to follow and you don’t have to count calories too much because each meal and each snack has already had the values calculated for you.

It may be overwhelming having 9 diets to choose from and there was some confusion over how many calories per day we should reduce our calorie intake by, but we are really just being picky about the calories as that was solved with a quick email and you can look at each diet yourself and choose the one you like best so that it is actually a good thing in the end (you can change things over if you start to get bored of one too!).
