Intro: Onion soup has to be the most antisocial soup there is! Unless you are all having it then eating a bowl of onions is not going to make you very popular when out with friends unless you have a good supply of mints. However even with that problem then it is still very popular and I think what draws people to this soup is the abundance of taste that it provides, plus the ease with which you can get the ingredients for it. To make this all you really need is some onions, butter, flour and some sort of stock, you can also add white wine too if you want to liven it up.

It is not a particularly nutritious soup though, it has high levels of salt in which is pretty typical for all the soups we have looked at, and it does have a lot of protein considering it contains no meat, however the level of vitamins and minerals in this seem quite low.
