Intro: Asparagus is a strange vegetable, it has a very unique taste and is supposed to be a very high class and expensive product, but is it really worth all the fuss? Well it does taste nice I guess, but really I would rather spend my money on broccoli and other veg than buy a few stalks of this for such high prices. However not everyone agrees with me and apparently this vegetable has been eaten for as long as 20,000 years back in Egypt! That is far longer than anything we have looked at so far, and as Wikipedia lists an actual specific location, Aswan in Egypt then I can only assume that some sort of archaeological evidence has been found to support that claim.
The asparagus today has been turned into a soup along with a generous helping of cream, that is why below you can see this soup has a fair amount of fat in it compared to the other soups we have looked at so far. The only really surprising value below is vitamin K which is hard to find in any quantity in most things, but seems abundant in this.
