Roasted Duck – Nutritional Information

Intro: Duck is a strange meat, it always seems quite greasy to me and you can see below that it is an incredibly fatty meat. However while it is a bit greasy then it also has a wonderfully unique taste which makes it a real treat to enjoy every so often. You can treat it just like any other joint of meat and have it as the centerpiece of a meal, however remember they are not that big so unless you cook multiple birds then it won’t be good for a big family meal. My favorite way to enjoy duck though is to shred the meat and then wrap it up in a tortilla with something like spring onion, and then either put some plum sauce in the wrap or just dip the wrap into the sauce afterwards, either way it is delicious.
As I mentioned earlier this is a really fatty meat, it is about 28% fat which makes it probably the fattiest meat we have looked at so far and I don’t think we have anything which will top that. It also has a smattering of vitamins and minerals but nothing that significant, apart from maybe slightly more selenium than we have seen in other meats recently.
