Intro: A beef patty is basically another name for what most people know as a beefburger, it is a flattened disc of ground beef that can then be cooked and either server in a bun as most people know it, or just served on its own. There is also a Jamaican patty which uses the ground beef in a different way, which looks very tasty. It is made with a pastry which they then fill with ground beef and spices.

In the US and the UK though then 9 times out of 10 the beef patty is going to be between two parts of a bun and have some lettuce, gherkins, tomato and sauces on it! We love our burgers at the moment, McDonalds serves about 58 million people a day according to Wikipedia, and as burgers in one form or another (chicken burgers, turkey burgers, beef burgers etc) make up the large majority of the menu, then you can imagine how many they make and sell per day!
