Intro: As I sit here and write this it is about an hour and half until I have my lunch, and looking at all the lovely tacos online is making me hungry! Tacos are tortillas filled with usually some sort of meat (prawns, chicken, beef) and then you have a little salad too and maybe some cheese, the tortilla is then wrapped around it and you eat it.

Around the 1950′s though then a hard taco shell started to become popular, probably because it made the whole thing easier to manage than a soft tortilla which can sometimes end up emptying the contents of your taco onto your plate! As soon as they found a way to hold the tortilla in the U shape as it was deep fried then it went into mass production, and has been a firm favourite ever since. You can see from the stats below they are mainly carbs and fat, so they are not the healthiest option when you go out to eat.
