Cherry Pie – Nutritional Information

Item: Cherry Pie
Category: Baked Products
Refuse: 0% (values below are for edible portion)
Serving size analysed: 180g, 1 piece

Intro: I like cherries because just like blueberries, they have a very unique and deep taste. Things like apples and pears do taste different, but they are both close to each other, cherries are in a whole different ball park. They are more expensive than other fruits though because I assume they are harder to grow or you get less per tree etc, which drives the price up.

Compared to the blueberry pie we looked at yesterday then actually this one contains a lot more vitamins and minerals, probably because as we discussed in the last post then blueberries contain more antioxidants than vitamins and minerals, which don’t show up in the figures below. Yet it is actually more nutritious than the apple pie we looked at a few days ago, so if you do fancy some pie when you are out then you can choose the cherry one and not only get a fantastic taste, but also feel a bit better that it contains more nutrients than the other options!
