Intro: Today we look at the oat bran muffin, which is probably the healthiest of all the ones we have discussed because it is high in fiber. Fiber is critical to our health in so many ways, and so any time I see a food which tastes nice and has a good dose of fiber in it, then I know that is something people should be eating.
This muffin gets its fiber from the fact it uses oat bran in the recipe, alongside some other flour (usually whole wheat). Bran is the hard outer layer of some grains, and so added this into the mix is basically just adding a dose of fiber, plus a small quantity of minerals and vitamins. So you just make your muffin as normal, then add in your oat bran and supercharge it!
I haven’t had an oat bran muffin before because I haven’t seen them sold near me, but after reading about them then I plan to make a batch myself and see what they taste like. There are loads of different variations to try – so have a look online and join me in baking a batch!
