Intro: Saltines are little crackers, usually made from less shortening than things like Ritz crackers so they have a dryer and crisper texture to them. They are made in small, thin squares with perforations between 2 crackers so you can snap them off. Personally I love the variety with the coarse salt on the top, I know salt is bad for us as it is in pretty much everything, but it really gives the cracker some bite.

You can have loads of different toppings on these, one of the most common would be cheese which you can enjoy with some red wine. Or my favourite is peanut butter and apple, the juicy apple helps to stop the peanut butter being too dry, so you get the great taste of peanut butter, without it sticking your mouth closed!

Nutritionally speaking they are mostly carbs and protein.
