Intro: The Italians love their bread, it is part of almost every meal. Italian bread tends to be in a baguette form and has a nice consistent interior to the loaf instead of having lots of air holes like in a French baguette. This is perfect for them as they like to mop up all those rich pasta sauces they have with their bread. Olive oil is used sometimes too in order to bind the ingredients together, and it makes for a much richer and tastier bread as well.

If you have ever been to Subway then you would have been offered Italian bread for your ‘sub’ there. I remember the first time they offered me the choice of bread and I was unsure what to pick because nobody usually lets you choose different breads! However I am not much of a connoisseur so I probably couldn’t tell if I was eating Italian bread compared to any other kind, even if it had it written on the packet!
